When AccountEdge fails to deliver, data conversion services promise to

Brandon, MB––March 4, 2022:  AccountEdge was initially owned by MYOB, bought by Acclivity in 2008, and is now owned by Priority Software after the latter’s 2018 acquisition of Acclivity.

AccountEdge is primarily designed for small, and growing businesses. AccountEdge Basic is designed for sole proprietors while the Pro plan is perfectly suited for today's small business owner who wants the best of both worlds: the reliability of an on-premise application coupled with remote system access.

Designed to be installed on a desktop or workstation, AccountEdge Pro can also be remotely accessed to perform specific tasks if necessary. Through AccountEdge’s simple interface, small businesses are able to manage bank accounts, balances and account numbers, and their annual budget. It helps small business owners keep track of all assets, liabilities, equities, income and expenses.

Scalability is owed to the success of the program. AccountEdge Pro can be used on a Windows or Mac, and also offers a mobile app for iOS devices. The application's end cost is also attractive, with a onetime fee charged for each plan.

AccountEdge customers have access to a 30-day free trial. AccountEdge Pro is a one-time fee of $699 for the first user license and $249 for each additional license. The payroll subscription, which includes federal, state and local payroll taxes and updates and any upgrades released during your subscription, is an additional $349 per year with automatic renewal.

With so many features available, AccountEdge has a steep learning curve. Some of the features are also reported to be “clunky”, and the software’s interface has been reported to be slightly outdated.

When it comes to support, customer service is generally limited to email support. Phone support is available at an additional cost of $199 per year. In a nutshell, customer support is expensive, and email response times are typically not considered ideal, with responses taking between one to three days.  Also, as AccountEdge is a locally-installed accounting program, security is solely handled on the personal server. Some Mac users have complained of issues when software upgrades are implemented and that the vendor hasn’t provided any support.

For data conversions from AccountEdge to any version of QuickBooks, QuickBooks Repair Pro offers a solution. This service accesses the data directly from a copy of the AccountEdge file and reformat it so it can be directly entered into QuickBooks. Conversion will include all standard lists -customers, vendors, employees, accounts, items, shipping methods, customer messages, payment terms, categories and jobs- open posting transactions -unpaid invoices, unpaid bills and unused credits. Non-posting transactions as well as Inventory quantities and values are also transferred and journal entries are made for each fiscal year end to keep the balance sheet as well as profit and loss the same in the QuickBooks file as they were in the AccountEdge file.
