Strong reporting, inventory management, multiple currencies and over 650 integrations QuickBooks has quite a bit going for it

Brandon, MB–– November 24, 2021: Both Sage and QuickBooks are solid options for business accounting software. Along these lines, although Sage and QuickBooks Online each have their individual graces, their differences help businesses identify the plans that would cater to their specific needs.

Looking at differences, Sage 50 offers solutions for larger companies and enterprises, while QuickBooks targets mainly small business to medium-sized businesses. Sage 50 offers more advanced solutions when it comes to HR functionality, inventory and stock management, while QuickBooks is a general accounting and financing software.

Sage50 to specific industries including manufacturing and non-profits, whereas QuickBooks’ Self-Employed plan caters to sole proprietors and freelancers.

In terms of costs and productiveness, Sage 50’s plans and costs vary based on users, while QuickBooks’ pricing tiers are more flexible, transparent and affordable, scaling-up to multiple user access.

Simply put, QuickBooks has more to offer within their accounting software, making it a great option for small and medium-sized businesses looking for a single software to manage multiple business processes. QuickBooks Online boasts strong reporting, customizable invoices, inventory management, multiple currencies, and more than 650 integrations. Its unique qualities boost the software even more with QuickBooks Capital lending platform and the QuickBooks Live Bookkeeping add-on, which allows users to outsource bookkeeping tasks to an accounting professional.

Sage 50 is reported to incorporate pricing plans that are less transparent and harder to follow, as they offer several similar yet advanced products. Packages are further divided based on the number of registered users. Adding extra users comes at an additional price. For Sage50 accounting software, more than 11 users require custom pricing over $330 per month.

QuickBooks offers four pricing plans: Simple Start that starts at $25 a month, Essentials at $40 a month, Plus at $70 a month and Advanced at $75 a month. For freelancers, the simplest option would be the QuickBooks Self-Employed plan at $15 a month that helps users keep tabs on income, expenses and tax obligations. The plan captures and organizes receipts, estimate quarterly taxes, creates invoices and accepts payments, tracks miles and runs necessary reports.
