Sure, the soundtrack has that summertime, lo-fi relaxed vibe, but the voice elevates, moving through rap rhymes with sharp lyricism.  Still outstanding, if not more so now because of his variety and his profound reflections on his life experiences.

“Payback,” continues to connect in an artistically unanticipated way. There are elements of the contemporary scene, such as the melody-rap in the intro and the lyrical outpouring of brilliant rhythm in “We Gon Eat,” but Kyle Joshua keeps things personal and under the control of his own creative freedom for the most part.
