Exclusive Interview With Rarehearted; Detroit Based Independent Group Whose Album ‘Off The Grid’ Is Doing The Rounds On All Streaming Services

Released on the 2nd of October, 2020, ‘Off the Grid’ is an album about taking the time to grow in one’s space, and creating one’s own field of art and inspiration.

In this exclusive interview, the group of four reveal details about the release of their album, the inspiration behind their songs, their musical journey so far, their style, upcoming projects, their zeal to exceed expectations, and more.

Interviewer: Good day and welcome. Let’s start with an introduction. Who are you?

Rarehearted: We go by the name RAREHEARTED. We are an independent label based out of Detroit MI. We are a group of four. We are called 09’ Grim, Bang, Kile, and Ramo Z.

Interviewer: How did Rarehearted begin? What’s the story behind your startup?

Rarehearted: Music has always had a heavy influence in all our lives since we were kids. We all met in high school and at that time, back in 2016 Kile was the only one rapping. We all had a talent with writing so making that connection just came easily. Eventually we all decided to give it a go and we just fell in love. After it was clear we had a gift it got to a point where we wanted to take it to the next level. So we formed a group. It went from a hobby to a passion and has now become our purpose.

Interviewer: How would you describe your music as a group?

Rarehearted: Our music is authentic to who we are as individuals. Self-expression has always played an important role in our lives. Using our art to do that has become second nature. We make hip/hop and rap music although we don't let that keep us in a box of our true potential. Art is art and we let the art speak for itself.

Interviewer: Do you draw inspirations from any artist or group, past or present?

Rarehearted: One of our biggest inspirations would have to be J dilla. Even though we look up to so many other great minds, J Dilla has to be our biggest inspiration.

Interviewer: Are there roles for everyone within the group?

Rarehearted: Every single one of us produces our own music. So we've gotten pretty familiar with instruments like piano, various different synths. However Ramo plays guitar. He loves it because he likes to think of the strings like strings to his heart and each note strikes his emotions in different ways. I think that goes for all of us too with all kinds of instruments.

Interviewer: You guys have got an album on the way, yeah? Could you tell us about it?

Rarehearted: Yeah, we do. Its call ‘OFF THE GRID’. It’s an album that is about taking the time to grow in your own space as a person or as an artist. It’s about creating your own field of art and inspiration. Metaphorically, It means not being found or unknown. This is because we are still on the come up making our way into the game. Through our art we are able to express who we are as RAREHEARTED.

Interviewer: Should fans expect anything new from Rarehearted in the coming months?

Rarehearted: There will be 6 upcoming projects and singles in between. Definitely expect a music video from us real soon. As well as a short film in the near future

Interviewer: Any last words for fans perhaps?

Rarehearted: Thank you for all your support no matter how big or how small we love and appreciate everyone who really listens to our art and genuinely likes it. You are as much RAREHEARTED as we are.
