All is set for the unveiling of Drew Stewart’s new EP Reggae from East Kingston which is set to be released on the 19th of July. The East Kingston native boasts about 13 years songwriting experience and has worked with the likes of Nature Ellis and Knolij Tafari who are set to feature in the upcoming Extended play. The new EP also features 6 tracks and various collaborations from other artists such as Jahmali, Dejour, Teko, Barnabas and Danny “Axeman” Thompson.
Drew Stewart presents Reggae from East Kingston would be released under the stables of his record label ”Then Now and Forever Music”. According to Drew Stewart, the label name was inspired by a spiritual shift in his life which was later replicated in his musical career as well.
The ‘Reggae from East Kingston’ EP was inspired from various legendary reggae acts raised in Kingston such as Bob Marley and Chronixx, including Drew Stewart himself. Stewart states that based on his experience most of the reggae acts originated in Kingston or surrounding areas. This EP is likewise a representation of his background and studio in East Kingston. Apart from his EP, fans can expect singles from the EP in the coming week. The “Love Me” single is the first release off upcoming EP Drew Stewart presents Reggae from East Kingston. The single was done by artist, Nature. The single is now available on all digital platforms.
Representing a new generation of reggae that keeps in the tradition of crooners who came before and inspire him, including Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond and Toots Hibbert, Drew Stewart continues to bring a fresh voice to the genre.
