Condensing, SuperCondensing or starting a brand new file – QuickBooks file optimization better explained

Kingston, August 17, 2022: The QuickBooks optimization process works to reducing the size of a file by removing older unwanted financial transactions, removing unused list records.

Files may need to be optimized when response is sluggish or unstable – meaning, it takes a long time to process or crashes frequently.

If am Enterprise file has gotten to 2GB. Enterprise was designed to hold more data, so for Premier files, around 100-200 MB can be an issue, and Pro files slow down at around 80-100 MB.

Condensing or cleaning a file is incorporated by Intuit to reduce the company file size by removing entries that are not being used or are not of importance. SuperCondensing on the other hand removes old, closed transactions from a file. Optionally, old unused customers and/or items can be removed too. File sizes are typically reduced by 50-80%.
