Brandon, MB––December 23, 2021: AccountEdge is an accounting and management solution that helps users create and track sales and purchases, run payroll, track and build inventory, bill for time and manage contacts.
Key features include invoicing and quotes, banking, purchase orders, time billing, payroll, inventory and e-commerce. AccountEdge is a locally-installed program with four pricing plans that are different for Mac and Windows users. Account Edge Basic is only available for Windows users, AccountEdge Pro, Priority Zoom, and Priority ERP is available for users that need a wide variety of custom-based services.
For Windows users, AccountEdge Pro costs a one-time fee of $499 for a single-user license plus $15 a month for the first license. For Mac users, there is no one-time fee, but it is $15 a month for the first license and $10 a month for an additional license.
On the downside, with so many features available, AccountEdge has a steep learning curve. Some of the features are also reported to be “clunky”, and the software’s interface has been reported to be slightly outdated.
When it comes to support, customer service is generally limited to email support. Phone support is available at an additional cost of $199 per year. In a nutshell, customer support is expensive, and email response times are typically not considered ideal, with responses taking between one to three days. Also, as AccountEdge is a locally-installed accounting program, security is solely handled on the personal server.
The QuickBooks suite offers something for every business user whether they’re a solopreneur or looking for enterprise-level accounting software. QuickBooks makes tax preparation easy for an entrepreneur or a small business. The software is easy-to-use for those who are inexperienced in preparing tax information to pass over to a bookkeeper or accountant.
Intuit is consistently working on improvements to the software through subsequent versions. QuickBooks makes it easy to access and share files whether on a desktop, laptop, or smartphone. QuickBooks is attentive to ratings and feedback and has shown that customer suggestions are heard and often implemented into subsequent versions.
Financial data is kept safe and secure due to automated backups.
Considering a switch to QuickBooks? E-Tech will access the data directly from a copy of your MYOB file and reformat it so it can be directly entered into QuickBooks. Conversion will include all standard lists -customers, vendors, employees, accounts, items, shipping methods, customer messages, payment terms, categories and jobs- open posting transactions -unpaid invoices, unpaid bills and unused credits. Non-posting transactions as well as Inventory quantities and values are also transferred and journal entries are made for each fiscal year end to keep the balance sheet as well as profit and loss the same in the QuickBooks file as they were in the AccountEdge file.
