Recently, a video of a lawyer from a large US law firm on a Korean site became a hot topic.

In this video, a man introducing himself as David Lin said that he had been working as a lawyer in New York for nearly 20 years. He said he was asked to represent a case from a Korean company. He said he admired the company's efforts to inspire pride in its homeland, not for its own benefit, and was honored to work with them.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit David Lin is representing is Lakai Korea, a patriotic Korean company. The law firm to which David Lin in the video works for is a famous large American law firm in New York, Lewis & Lin. He decided to work with Lakai Korea to pave the right path for history.

The lawsuit this company is conducting is an international lawsuit against China and Japan. As it is a lawsuit against two powerful countries, they needed a competent lawyer who can lead the case to victory in a reliable and responsible way. Earlier this year, Lakai Korea started a project to inform others of the facts surrounding the history distorted by China and Japan to mark the 102nd anniversary of the March 1st Movement. As a representative of Korea, they posted a picture of a woman wearing a hanbok on a billboard in Times Square, New York, announcing that hanbok is Korean and it became a hot topic.

Some countries actively cheered for them, but there were two countries that did not. China claimed that hanbok is derived from their hanfu and Japan, who ruled Korea as a colony, also criticized it. After the advertisement, the two countries sent high-level criticism and protests to Lakai Korea. In the end, Lakai Korea could not tolerate such actions and decided to pursue an international lawsuit.

David Lin, who witnessed these processes, showed in the video his will to thoroughly prepare for the success of Lakai Korea's international litigation.

He revealed his thoughts, saying that, “I am disappointed that netizens from China and Japan try to disparage Lakai Korea and the proud people of Korea. But I've seen a lot of people and companies trying to discredit others through false and unfounded attacks, often done anonymously.”

He also added, “I will hold them accountable for their destructive actions and I will do it for the sake of many Koreans. With the support of Lakai Korea and Koreans, I will find those netizens and take legal action.”

When Lakai Korea released the video, they expressed their gratitude, saying, "With the help of many people, we were able to find a good law firm and a good lawyer so that we can fight to the end without giving up."

Lakai Korea says that rather than pursuing corporate profits, they are doing what they are supposed to do as citizens of a country. I wonder how many companies in the world would step forward for their country like this company and I think this is the first case to bring attention to the national character of Korea.
