10/15/20 – Spiritual fusion artist Praiselife has proudly announced that he’d be releasing his debut single titled ‘Say What’ on the 23rd of October, 2020 across all digital streaming platforms. ‘Say What’ is a song that celebrates sticking to one’s convictions in the face of outside doubt as part of the mission to spread God’s word.
The debut single which is the first song from Praiselife’s upcoming E.P titled ‘Where Would You Go’, shows the artist’s distinctive experimentation and breakdown of genre boundaries in a new style which he calls Spiritual Fusion. Whilst many songs on the E.P celebrate being oneself and individuality, ‘Say What’ connects this to a higher power and the duty that those following this path have to not be led astray by social pressure.
‘Say What’ is led by a hook which blends subtly with its rhythm; it is a sonic collage of genres, including downtempo, electronic, RnB, and gospel, as well as including his producer Bamrockcity’s signature style of genre-fusion led music production.
In previous projects, he had invented and experimented with another of his own styles which he termed TripHopSoul - and here, these early influences have grown into a more rounded and sophisticated sound which draws the listener to contemplate their own spiritual truths. In this way, it is not only the lyrics which celebrate the power and intensity of his spiritual path- musically, ‘Say What’ is rousing, uplifting, and inspiring, with the emotional legacy of the gospel tradition combined with more modern genres.
