(Cirebon, September 21, 2020.) -- Sultan Sepuh XV PRA Luqman Zulkaedin received international peace prize presented by the Visions of Peace Awards. This award was given for the great contribution to peace and culture by the Royal Palace of Kasepuhan Cirebon. Since Sultan Sepuh XIV Arief Natadiningrat period, the palace has shown enormous efforts and service to the public and community. After the coronation of Sultan Sepuh XV, he has shown significant progress towards peace, culture and humanity in his territory. He went to many schools in Cirebon to promote peace to the children and taught them how important peace is, especially in this period of the Covid pandemic.
“According to Sunan Gunung Jati, the founder of this kingdom back in 16th Century, we must maintain harmony because we are all God's creatures and we must join hands to create peace because it is essential and divine.” Said the Sultan during his speech in front of many children, dignitaries, and religious leaders.
This award was presented directly by the Visions of Peace Director, Prince Adipati KPH Damien Dematra. The Visions of Peace Initiative is focused on young students from the ages of 5 to 18 and is dedicated to motivating the youth for peace through a variety of art, film modalities, and lifestyle.
During the 37th Visions of Peace Awards, 23 finalists and 3 winners were selected from almost a thousand participants in a series of competitions with the main theme about peace and culture.
Special Peace Awards were also awarded to a famous actress Princess BRAy Erna Santoso and Warisan Budaya Nusantara. And Pin of Peace to Sultan Sepuh XV and Queen Alexandra Wuryaningrat.
The celebration of World Peace Day on September 21 was successfully held at this 25 hectares Palace in Cirebon.
World Peace Day was initiated by the United Nations (UN) in 1981. The event followed strict health protocols and was ended with a series of prayer of peace by senior religious leaders and attended by kings and queens of the archipelago, students, journalists, aristocrats, activists, and general public.
