San Marcos, CA – August 2024 – I’m sharing my recent experience at Draft Republic San Marcos to warn others, especially minorities, about the unfair and discriminatory treatment we encountered. My family and I, along with five other families, visited the establishment expecting a fun and relaxed evening. Unfortunately, things took a disappointing turn when the manager cut us off from ordering any more drinks, claiming we were being too loud.
What made this even more frustrating was that we were outside, in an area where live music was playing, and random kids were running around freely screaming having the time of their life. It was a lively environment, and we weren’t the only ones making noise. However, we were the only minority group there, and it felt like we were singled out because of it.
Our group spent a significant amount of money—my family alone spent around $180—yet we were treated with a lack of respect and fairness. This experience was not only embarrassing but also concerning, as it seems to reflect a deeper issue of discrimination at Draft Republic San Marcos. On top of the discriminatory treatment, the parking situation is terrible, and the food wasn't that good. For a place that promotes itself as a family-friendly spot, the reality was far from it. I want to warn others, especially fellow minorities, to think twice before visiting Draft Republic San Marcos.
No one deserves to be treated unfairly or discriminated against. I hope that by speaking out, we can prevent others from having the same negative experience, and hopefully this serves as a wake up call to Draft Republic San Marcos and the Manager!
