Ocean Surfari and Reef Surfari have partnered with Friends of Virgin Islands National Park to raise money for the park and the work that takes place every day on the islands, the beaches and the water.

"For us, this is a no-brainer. We live for the waters in the Virgin Islands and our business is based 100% on these waters," said Captain Juan Polanco. "When we can do something to promote a healthier ecosystem and protect what we have, that's something we simply have to do."

With every trip booked through https://oceansurfari.com/friends-of-the-virgin-islands-national-park/, the company will donate money to the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park. For every "Let's Make A Difference" shirt, the company will donate $5 to the program of your choice.

TURTLES

Sea turtles are an iconic marine animal. These turtles are also endangered over much of their range in the world's oceans.

Booking a trip and using the Sea Turtle option sends $5 to the Friends of the Park's Turtle preservation program. The money is used to protect nests, support research and educate people about these harmless and lovable creatures.

CORAL

Coral reefs around the world are suffering. The Friends of the Park's Coral preservation and restoration program sends divers to the reefs to repair, restore and rebuild these critical underwater habitats. Money is also used to support research into coral reefs.

Each trip booked with this option generates $5 for the program.

While divers are down there, they also try to remove the invasive lionfish, a super predator on the reefs. These fish are beautiful, but have poisons in their fins. They have no native predators in the Atlantic and can quickly eliminate small prey items that support each reef's aquatic population.

KIDS

The Learn to Swim program teaches Virgin Island natives about their own islands as well as training them to become lifeguards. Each $5 donated with a trip booked through this option also supports playgrounds for children.

"Our islands must be protected. We have to work now to preserve them for the future," Capt. Polanco said. "By partnering with the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park  and giving our customers a chance to contribute to these worthwhile efforts, we are doing our part and helping visitors preserve the beauty they come to see."
