Kingston, July 2, 2021: Multicurrency can be turned on if a business has customers, suppliers, or bank accounts that don't use the specific home currency. Once it's on, transactions can be added in another currency. Once the feature has been turned on, it cannot be turned off.
A single currency can be assigned for most types of accounts, including customers, suppliers, bank and credit card accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. A new account would need to be added for each different currency that are used in transactions. Multi-currency supports multi-national strategies and currency conversion, a price list for each currency, buying and selling in the home currency and keeping no limit on currencies used.
Only current exchange rates can be downloaded. Historical exchange rates would needed to be added manually. Although static foreign prices can be set using the per item price levels, the same cannot be done to create static foreign unit costs.
Features such as online invoice payment cannot be enabled for multiple currencies and automatic memorized transactions cannot be set up in foreign currency.
