UAE seeks the next big tech startups from UK, $5billion of investment already earmarked

If your tech start-up is looking for sustainable funding and investors who understand the needs of today’s tech companies, it’s important that you attend this year’s GITEX FUTURE STARS event on 17 - 20 OCT 2021, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. 2021 will be the event’s 6th year, and it is already among the top 5 largest start-up shows in the world, with over 700 startups from 75 countries taking part. This is an incredible opportunity to meet investors from around the globe in Dubai who are looking to invest in tech start-ups from the UK specifically. Longstanding trade arrangements and cooperation between the UK and the UAE means that UAE based investment vehicles are particularly well placed to invest in up and coming UK business with an emphasis on the tech sector, with estimates of up to $5billion eagerly anticipated in coming years.

Simon Penney, HM Consul General Dubai & Northern Emirates and Trade Commissioner for the Middle East, Afghanistan & Pakistan stated “The Department for International Trade (DIT) works with UAE investors to bring investment into all parts of the UK. GITEX and Ai Everything in October 2021 offers a great platform for the UK tech sector to place themselves front and centre in the UAE market, and DIT looks forward to helping UK tech businesses to make critical connections in this exciting market”.

Why has GITEX FUTURE STARS become such a global success? How about the fact that it is underpinned by GITEX Global, one of the world’s largest multi sector tech events, hosting over 100,000 attendees? How about 564 start-up investment deals in 2020 in the UAE, $704 million in total funding, and 212 international investors funded MENA start-ups? These factors combined with the fact that the UAE currently leads the Arab world as the number one ecosystem for start-ups will make the UAE the entrepreneur capital of the world. That means more opportunities and more reasons than ever for today’s tech start-ups to attend this year’s GITEX FUTURE STARS event from 17 - 20 OCT 2021, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The global pandemic has ushered in the next generation of tech breakthroughs and the GITEX FUTURE STARS event will be hosted alongside one of the biggest tech shows in the world, GITEX Technology Week. GITEX FUTURE STARS offers today’s tech start-ups exclusive access to the full Middle East ecosystem and key international players. Your team will have an opportunity engage with some of the world’s most active investors including over 400 accelerators & angel networks.
