Ashanti Douglas, the reigning Miss Jamaica Nation Universe is an aspiring model. Ashanti has been modeling since she was 14 years old. Due to family issues however, Ashanti took a small break and recently returned to the modeling industry.

It has always been her dream to be on stage since she was 3 years old. Ashanti was discovered by the Miss Nation Universe pageant after attending a casting call for Super Chic Miami Art Basel Edition Fashion Week. Ashanti was selected to walk the runway for the artsy-fashion week show.

Ashanti plans to implement her title by using it as a leverage to advance her modeling career, while being a role model for women and girls to inspire them to reach their goals. In five years from now, Ashanti sees herself as a very successful model or actress along with owning a couple of her own businesses and traveling the world to walk for fashion weeks internationally.

The stereotype that Ashanti would like to break about pageantry is that all African American girls can also win crowns and be in pageants as well.
