Much like the T20 format, there has been a new format emerging for the past half decade, known as the T10 League. This means that each side gets 10 overs to get the highest score possible and the average duration of a match is more or less one and a half hours. The latest T10 tournament is going to be held in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in the year 2021. The cricket tournament is going to be held in a round robin style, up until the semi finals. The semi finals and the finals are going to be played traditionally as everyone is familiar with.
This is the fourth season of the T10 league and this is the only league that follows this format. It was always decided that the tournament was to be held in the United Arab Emirates, but the dates were supposed to be from 19th November to 28th November in the year 2020. But due to the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, the dates were shifted so as the tournament commences on 28th January and ends on 6th February in the year 2021.
There are 8 teams that will be participating in the tournament and they are,
- Bangla Tigers.
- Delhi Bulls.
- Maratha Arabians.
- Northern Warrior.
- Deccan Gladiators.
- Pune Devils.
- Qalandars.
- Team Abu Dhabi.
All of the teams have acquired players from all around the world including some players who are considered to be the very best in what they do. Some players participating in the tournament are Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Luke Wright, Chris Morris, Mohammad Hafeez, Afif Hossain, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Colin Ingram, Imran Tahir, Alex Hales, Ben Cox, Dwayne Bravo,Shahid Afridi, Thisara Perera and many more.
Out of the 8 teams, there is one which everyone has their eyes fixed upon, they are the Maratha Arabians, the team led by Shoaib Malik is one of the strongest in the tournament in terms of team chemistry and playing experience and has served to be one of the best in the past three tournaments of the T10 league.
