Calcular, Mental Maths is the first app using speech recognition and AI to properly teach mental maths. Pierre Stanislas, developer of the game, is also a parent locked like millions of other people due to recent COVID-19 epidemic.
He says, “The compulsory Covid quarantine made me spend a lot of time alternating between work-at-home and homeschooling for our twins (9 years old), which made me realize they needed a bit of nudging to progress at mental maths... being an Apple enthusiast I looked at what was available in the AppStore and quickly realized that none of the apps approached mental maths the right way i.e. this is something that is best learned verbally, with no visual clue whatsoever.”
