Hong Kong web3.0 carnival officially launched with a gathering of great minds

On April 12th, the Hong Kong Web3.0 Carnival officially opened, bringing together global leaders, experts, scholars, and industry elites in Web3.0 technology. A total of 10,000 people registered, including CZ, the founder of the world's largest digital currency exchange Binance, Sun Yuchen, the founder of Tron, and the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong.

So what does this unprecedented event represent? The Financial Secretary of Hong Kong mentioned in his opening speech that now is the golden opportunity for the development of Web3.0, which will promote more technological breakthroughs and application innovations. The Web3.0 track will surpass the once-popular NFT and blockchain games.

At this conference, some of the tracks also underwent some changes. RAAS is a track that emerged at the end of last year and has a close relationship with the OP Stack release. However, Appchain as a Service has long existed, represented by the Cosmos SDK, and gradually became popular after Celestia proposed modular blockchain. RAAS can be seen as a recent hot subset.

Gamefi may be the hottest track currently, without a doubt. Counting the projects I have seen and discussed in the past few months, if we divide each sub-track, Gamefi should be the most. The reason is not difficult to understand. On the one hand, V God himself said years ago that finance and games would be the first two scenarios where blockchain would land. Based on the NFT's Free to Own, represented by DigiDaigaku, APE's Dookey Dash also has a similar feel. In short, it attracts players to own NFTs for free or at very low prices, and then constantly empowers NFTs later. This requires a high level of suspense, mystery, and marketing ability for the team in the early stage, and the ability to develop and produce games in the later stage, making it a highly challenging route.

In the field of SocialFi, Ditok, a Web3.0 short video platform that emerged in 2022, has become the focus of attention in the blockchain advertising field this year. Although its aggressive mechanism has been criticized by the market, after long-term development and optimization, major projects still favor the user traffic accumulated by Ditok. The combination of short videos and mining is an innovative attempt, and the development of Ditok in the Middle East may be its biggest breakthrough point in 2023.
