Rarely in life do you come across an artist with undeniable skill and a natural star quality that cannot be taught, and you just know it’s just a matter of time before they break out. Era’nay, on the other hand, is one of those artists. Era’nay’s insatiably smooth sound and stunning balance in the harmony of her hybrid style is a genuine representation of her amazing passion and profound respect for the art of composing music.

Putting together the praiseworthy eccentricities of soul and R&B, emerging singer Era’nay is crafting “Elevate” is a passionate blend of vivacious thematic insinuations that collaborate with complementary undertones to make songs that are engaging in its intelligent variations. Although the whole entire EP is a regal body of work, ““Waiting For” and “Farewell” are hands up our favorite tracks.

“Waiting For” is a very raw and from-the-heart piece stripped down to its core soul — a simple back rhythm and a smooth and stylish vocal performance that is both honest and striking throughout. The subtle synth-like riff in the background creates a powerful but smooth ambiance, and the vocal that jumps out amid it is fantastic. Those R&B tones truly come through; Era’nay seems to be swept away by the subject matter and as listeners, we are as well. When an artist allows the music to guide them in this way, the end result takes us to places we never imagined to go. Music that has a strong emotional impact on you.

The lyrics of “Farewell” is obviously very personal and Era’Nay’s expressive and soulful vocals reflect on the loss of a loved one, as she wonders if the words “I Love You” were said frequently enough. Throughout the verses and chorus part, the melody used to deliver these lines is modest yet powerful in conveying that emotional energy.

This EP is highly worth experiencing because of the soul and sincerity that has been poured into it. She’s an artist who has discovered her own voice, her own style, and she’s clinging to it – running with it. The EP “Elevate,” with five tracks of unfettered R&B and soul, is strongly recommended.
