THE Yoruba Self-Determination Movement, YSDM, with a leading Yoruba nation campaigner, Chief Dr. Sunday Adeyemo, aka Igboho, has dissociated itself from the position of a group of people that has just seceded from the apex Yoruba national interest crusade. This is coming a few days to the Nigerian presidential election.

The YSDM is the apex and canopy for over 400 Yoruba Self-Determination groups, a platform known for its consistent commitment to the legal and peaceful breakaway of the entire territory and the people of the Southwest comprising of mainly of the Yoruba ethnicity, from Nigeria.

The Directorate of Publicity of the YSDM has, on a television show, declared its dissociation from the activities and the agenda of a new Yoruba group trying to mislead the general public by using a name similar to that of YSDM. This new group has claimed political partisanship as the basis for its existence.

According to YSDM, some of the members of the splinter formation were once part of the Yoruba nation struggle. But they decided for whatever reason they feel, to team up with politicians for this year's presidential election.

Noting with clarity, YSDM, stressed that it did not have anything to do with the Nigerian politics nor whoever might be contesting for whatever position.

Regretting the action of the splinter group which many have described as "traitorous"and "double-dealing," the officials of the YSDM urged all Yoruba sons and daughters to remain calm and resolute in their prayer and belief that "Yoruba nation will come in a matter of days."

In its word to the new group, the YSDM said, "The YSDM, that represents the Yoruba Nation has not and will not endorse anyone for presidential election. Yoruba Nation is not a joke and we are not for politics. We shall remain resolute on our position and there is no going back."

The five-man participant panel of the YSDM's publicity directorate on the television show jointly warned the dissenting group not to create a picture of association with the YORÙBÁ NATION in its agenda "dubious" agenda.

“It is unfortunate they don't have the conscience and the frame of mind in taking the risk of rebellion against their own people at the dangling of bread to sell out. We have nothing against them nor Tinubu himself but they should not bring YORÙBÁ NATION or YSDM into their game. Their dubious intention"

"They can go their way but they should not take nor attach us there. We know they can't see nor hear from history. Why was it that the Nigerian Police killed Yoruba nation protesters but refused to kill protesters in the North?" YSDM asked.

Meanwhile, a star actor in the Yoruba self determination struggle, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, aka Igboho, said he did not and would not endorse anyone for any political office for 2023 irrespective of any form of blackmail from any quarter.

This was made known by Igboho's spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki who featured in the YSDM Global TV programme on the Yoruba nation.

Igboho said "I have nothing to do with their politics. Yoruba self determination is real and I remain focused, resolute and faithful in the struggle. Those who might have left our side of the struggle to pitch tent with politicians have done so on their own and not in any way connected to me ... No going back on this mission."

In the meantime, the leadership of the Yoruba Self Determination Movement, YSDM, has expressed it's confidence in the leadership of the group's top man, Prof. Banji Akintoye. This came as a compliment for congratulating the Yoruba leader who has just turned 88 years.

'We pray for our father and the leader of Yoruba, Baba Banji Akintoye, on his 88th birthday. We send our warm greetings and our loyalty to the strong man and lover of hamanity, lover of his race. We retain our confidence in Baba's splendid leadership and he will, by God, live many more years in good health and accomplishments," YSDM stated.
