BCCM: Creating the best fit talent for the hospitality world

The hospitality industry has been looking brighter and more inviting than ever before when it comes to job opportunities and careers. The major concern here is attracting the right talent and retaining them, with the right pay package and a conducive work environment.

Hospitality educators need to focus on skilling with an eye on job requirements. Institutes have to focus on providing the industry with job-ready candidates who do not need to be further trained for their skills. The hospitality segment is shining and requires a large workforce to support its growth trajectory.

British Columbia College of Management (BCCM) creates a niche for itself by upskilling and reskilling in a manner that is in sync with the National Education Policy of the government. With prestigious tie-ups with 2 new international universities of repute (European Institute of Management and Technology, in Switzerland, and Birchwood University, Orlando, USA), combined with world class education at its campus in Greater Noida, and over 1500 placements done both in India and abroad, BCCM has been changing the lives of many job aspirants. Such employment opportunities have been a boon for many families helping them prosper.

Conceived with the intention of offering top-notch hospitality education to students pursuing careers in the industry, BCCM has recently unveiled its first institute in Delhi NCR. The management of BCCM comes with a background of having written many success stories at its Chanakya Institute of Hospitality Management in Bihar. The major areas of focus which makes it different from other colleges are incorporation of practical training with hotels apart from industrial training. The students will receive a three-year work visa after earning their advanced degree, with the possibility of obtaining Permanent Residency (PR) status in Canada, with the support of Careerera and BT Campus, partners of BCCM.

"The main aim of BCCM is to make students stand equal in line with their international counterparts, be it through practical knowledge or giving them an overseas taste of working culture along with its environment. While living in India, the students getting an experience of Canada is like having two degrees in one, which is a win-win situation for students," said Mr Deepak Jha, MD and CEO, BCCM.

In addition to the new affiliations, BCCM has tie-ups with not only national but international universities and hotel partners like Niagara College, Selkirk College, Yogi’s kitchen, World Trade Centre BRNO, and Indian supporting partners like Raddison, Atharva, Hitachi, etc. They even have collaboration with top recruiters like The Lalit, Ramada, Lemon Tree, Taj hotels and others, thereby ensuring 100% placement for all of their students, both in India and the overseas markets of Canada, USA and Europe, amongst others.

BCCM would also focus on online, offline and vocational training programmes, and several 1 year dynamic dual certification courses in partnership with universities abroad, and in alignment with the needs and demands of the industry, would be introduced very soon. The international campus of BCCM will be established in Canada and will collaborate with the Canadian government on the Skill Canada project.

BCCM’s leaders and advisors have incepted this college with the vision to include seasoned and experienced professionals from the hospitality and education sectors, and therefore the course content includes industry interaction and real-life shop floor inputs from senior managers working in reputed brands. Including case studies from best practices, a flexible curriculum supported by efficient learning systems, allows the students the flexibility to pick-up any assignment at their convenience accompanied with technology that is merged with friendly study material and online mode of examinations for on the job training.

BCCM offers a variety of courses which vary from 1 year Diploma to 3 years of Bachelor courses in hotel management, and allied courses, with fees starting from INR 75,000 to INR 150,000 per semester. The minimum eligibility criteria is 12th pass. These will begin from 15th November 2022.
