• Reiterates the need to teach children about kindness

London,September 29th, 2022: Kamapala Chukwuka, London-based culturally diverse children's book author has recently launched a new book aimed at teaching children about kindness & caring for others.

The book which is titled Kind Obi is a story about Obi, a sweet little boy who is intentional about being kind to others. When Obi’s teacher, Miss Kaja asks the children what they’d like to be when they grow up,she gets responses like ‘Doctor’, ‘Fireman’, ‘Teacher’ but Obi’s answer is rather unusual but special.

For Obi, kindness is a profession, it’s something he wants to live for and this message is well-driven throughout the book.

Kamapala, through her book ‘Kind Obi’, seeks to reinforce the need to teach children ways to show kindness as they go about their daily activities. According to Kamapala, the best time to start practising the act of kindness is from childhood.

“In a world that is chaotic, judgemental & competitive, we can only hope that the next generation does better. For us to change the world for good, we need to instill values that can help the next generation cohabit in love and unity.

To achieve this, we should teach children how to show kindness, love, patience and so many other laudable values,” Kamapala says.

Kind Obi is not just another storybook for children. It’s special in that it includes a kindness journal aimed at helping children identify ways to show kindness and put them into practice.

Kind Obi is Kamapala’s third book with the first  being ‘Mummy’s love for you will always be’ which is an adorable children's picture book that seeks to celebrate the love a mother has for her child.

Her second, Ama’s Gift, a book that encourages children and everyone to share their special gifts.

Kamapala is a proud mum of three boys. She was inspired to start her publishing services after a disappointing report from publishers that there was not enough demand for diverse books.

 She writes culturally diverse children's books with a strong focus on black character leads.

Kamapala writes these books to inspire little black/brown boys and girls. According to her, she feels representation in children's literature is very important as it offers ALL children variety in what they read and acceptance of others.

She is also the founder of Inspired Creative Hub, a Digital Marketing Agency based in the UK.
